“We are so proud of our fall sports teams efforts in league play,” said CH-UH Athletic Director Joe D’Amato. “Every year we set out to win the Principals Cup - this year we look to retain it - and our fall coaches have done a great job getting us off to a good start.” the LEL Principals cup is awarded to the team with the best record for all teams at the end of the school year.

Below is Mr. D’Amato’s recap of the season:

Cross Country: Scott McNulty had an amazing first season. Participation numbers for the Cross Country team doubled from years past. The Cross Country team had outright winners in both boys (Braedan Gallagher) and girls (Azaria Thomas) at the LEL meet. Braedan secured numerous top 10 finishes throughout the season and Azaria was a state regional qualifier. Coach McNulty has built a foundation for our running programs which will no doubt lead to future success.

Football: Mac Stephens and his team had an incredible season, 9-1 (overall) 5-0 (LEL) and their first playoff berth since 2015. Coach Mac's program continues to have success in many ways: Increased participation numbers (65 to 110 players since 2017), record: 4-6 in 2017, 7-3 in 2018, 9-1 2019, 10+ athletes receive college scholarships. We are lucky to have someone as dedicated as Coach Mac leading our football program.

Girls Soccer: Coach Patrick Gleba did an outstanding job in his first year leading the program. The impact he made this year goes well beyond the additional wins the team secured. I look forward to seeing where he takes the program in future years.

Boys Soccer: Coach Tshepo Motsamai and the team played a grueling schedule during the regular season but it paid off in the long run. I am not sure I have ever seen a team make as much progress in one season. Credit to coach Tshepo and his development of the players. This program is ready to take off in the next few seasons.

The Lake Erie League includes Bedford, Lorain, Maple Heights, Shaw, and Warrensville Heights.
