About Noble Elementary School

Preparing students for academic success is our primary goal at Noble Elementary School. Each student at Noble participates in educational experiences that reflect the District's strong academic curriculum and focus on student achievement. Teachers provide a variety of hands-on learning experiences that encourage the use of higher level thinking, problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.

Noble Elementary School is guided by our “Connect 4 Noble” philosophy. This philosophy states that ALL students will read at or above grade level and be bully free. All students, parents, and staff sign a contract committing to these goals.

At Noble, we focus on the whole child and work to see him or her achieve at the highest possible level. The following programs assist in this mission by promoting a positive school climate:

Young Ladies/Men of Noble Fifth grade students who make honor or merit roll are inducted into this leadership program. Students meet weekly and wear formal dress clothes on meeting days. This program promotes scholarship, manners, volunteerism, and community through a variety of activities.

N.E.D. (Never gives up, Encourages others, Does his/her best) Students who exemplify the above traits are nominated weekly by teachers and peers. Nominees are selected randomly from each grade level and recognized on the announcements. N.E.D. students have their pictures published in the Noble Notes newsletter and have a pizza party with the principal, Ms. Beers.

FISH Philosophy This internationally successful program is a fundamental base to our positive school climate. Students learn the philosophy (Play!, Make Their Day, Be There, Choose Your Attitude) at assemblies and in class meetings.

Giraffe Speak Students in our primary grades learn to speak “giraffe” through an interactive puppet show put on by our principal, Ms. Beers. The giraffe uses “I” messages to communicate concerns and works to resolve conflicts peacefully. Having the largest heart and longest neck of all mammals, the giraffe sticks out its neck for others. A giraffe-speaking student is a peacemaker who promotes our bully-free environment.

Civility The City of Cleveland Heights and our school District have embraced the 25 Rules of Considerate Conduct by P.M. Forni. In an effort to incorporate this focus at Noble, we adopt one rule per month. Students interact with the concepts on the classroom level.

History of the School Noble School has been part of the Cleveland Heights school community for over 95 years. Our present building was constructed during the 1921 school year. Students were temporarily transferred to Lee and Superior Schools that year. Wagon transportation was provided! The school would reopen in the fall of 1923, and has been an active and vital part of the community ever since. It is a traditionally designed building that has been modified over the years to include a large central media center in what was once an open atrium, as well as our primary wing on the east end of the building. Recent renovations have further made Noble an appealing and engaging learning environment for both students and staff.

Schedule a Tour Please accept our invitation to call the school office at 216-371-6535 to schedule a school tour provided by the principal. We look forward to seeing you at Noble and sharing our learning community with you.
