CLEVELAND HEIGHTS , OH – Six Cleveland Heights High School seniors have been named semifinalists in the first round of the 53rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program and 44th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program. The National Merit semifinalists are Andrew Brandt, Sarah Dion, Andrew Donley, Alexander Kraus, and Jane Lindsay. The National Achievement Scholarship semifinalist is Victoria Williams.
National Merit Commended students are Maria Evangelista, Owen Lowrie, Chelsea Steffen, Hannah Tatar, and Victoria Williams. D Daley Baker and Adam Katt are National Achievement Scholarship outstanding participants.
The semifinalists have earned the right to compete to become National Merit and National Achievement Finalists and scholarship winners. Merit Scholarship semifinalists have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,200 awards worth $34 million, along with Achievement Scholarship semifinalists eligible for 800 awards worth $2.5 million.
