UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS , OH – Building on a successful debut last summer, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District is expanding its Summer Bridging Program over the next two weeks, in partnership with John Carroll University.
The Summer Bridging Program is designed to help students prepare for the rigorous coursework ahead of them as they move from elementary to middle school math, or from middle school and early high school math, into more advanced courses. This program is designed to provide enrichment for students through creative and experiential opportunities. All students at specific grade levels are invited to participate in this program based upon their enrollment in specific math courses in the fall. These include: students who will be in 6th grade Pre-Algebra, students who will be in 9th grade Geometry or Algebra II, and students who will be in 10th grade Algebra II.
Newly added this summer is the Writer’s Workshop Program for all interested students in grades 6 – 11. The purpose of this two-week session will be to develop their writing skills while providing opportunities to experience multiple genres in a workshop setting.
In addition to focused learning, the students are also exposed to a university setting, and learn about John Carroll University through campus tours. |
