CLEVELAND HEIGHTS , OH – “The Art of Robotics,” “Building a Dream House,” and “Cooking Up Math” are just a few of the courses available this summer through a special enrichment program. CH-UH students entering grades 6-12 in the 2008-2009 school year will have the chance to stretch their minds with the Summer S.T.R.E.T.C.H. program (Stretching Through Enrichment, Thinking, Challenges, and Hands-on investigation), held at Cleveland Heights High School from July 21, 2008 through August 8, 2008.
The program has been designed to provide enrichment and targeted preparation and support for CH-UH students during the summer. Offerings vary in audience, meeting time, and content.
“These courses include a mix of engaging topics to enrich and challenge all of our 6th-12th grade students during the summer and get them excited about learning to occur next school year,” Coordinator of Gifted/Enrichment and Special Programs Rebecca Quinn said. “Students will get the chance to expand critical thinking skills, apply math lessons to everyday life, develop a voice through the written word, and best prepare for rigorous coursework and post-secondary opportunities in the near future. We hope many students will take advantage of this new and exciting program.”
