Heights High OST Testing Starts April 3

March 25, 2024

Dear Heights High students and families,

The Ohio State Test (OST) is one of Ohio's graduation requirements to receive a diploma from Cleveland Heights High School.

Per the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio's new graduation requirements consist of three key components:

  1. Course Completion: Students will complete the state minimum 20 units, with specific units required in each content area.
  2. Competency Demonstration: Students will demonstrate competency in the foundational areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics.
  3. Readiness Demonstration: Students will demonstrate readiness for their post-high school paths by earning two diploma seals, one of which being state-defined. Earning two diploma seals allow them to demonstrate important foundational and well-rounded academic and technical knowledge; professional skills; social and emotional competencies; and leadership and reasoning skills.

End of Course exams will be administered at Cleveland Heights High School in the following subjects on the dates below:

Wednesday, April 3 - English II Part 1
Thursday, April 4 - English II Part 2
Wednesday, April 10 - American History & Government Part 1 and Part 2
Thursday, April 11 - Biology Part 1 and Part 2
Wednesday, April 17 - Algebra 1 and Geometry part 1
Thursday, April 18 - Algebra 1 and Geometry part 2

All students will follow a modified bell schedule on testing days. The bell schedule will be sent out via the "Peek of the Week" newsletter and email. Additional correspondence will be sent out to highlight the scheduled testing dates, times, and locations. Students MUST bring their district-issued Chromebook fully charged for testing.

Sincerely,
